After the zoo, the students and I went for a walk. We talked about different places that the animals lived in; the pond, the stream, the park, the trees, etc. We discussed how each of the animals survived there and what their habitat gave them.
We talked about different animals in the zoo and the habitats that they lived in. We discussed how their needs were met such as food, water, shelter, safety, etc.
Afterwards, I had the students go home and think of an animal that they wanted to do. They came back the next day and started making their habitats.
Kara chose a rabbit.
Kevin chose a koala bear.
William went with the zebra and Harry rounded us off with the cheetah (which he loves)…
